My name is Delmara.
I’m proud to be the wife and mommy of a beautiful, love-filled family composed of the best husband ever; a super-cute and crazy four-year-old girl and a wonderful, baby boy. God and my family are my life and they fill my heart with joy. When Im not taking pictures, you would find me playing and giggling with my family, working in my garden, tending my little flock of backyard chickens, cooking something or crafting some do it yourself project.
As for photography, my mom says that it’s in my genes, as my grandpa was an excellent photographer always having a camera in-hand and spending hours upon hours tinkering in his darkroom. He gave me my very first camera when I was about eight years old. That’s when it all began…

Photography is something that I have always loved and had a passion for. I spent my high school years in the darkroom and leading photo club (but shh..thats my photo nerd secret.) I’ve been pursuing it professionally since 2005. Most people have jobs that they don’t enjoy going to each day, but I’ve decided that if you do what you love, you’ll love what you do. So, I take pictures.
I’d say that I take a photojournalist’s lifestyle-approach to photography, meaning that my goal is to capture the natural moments and emotions of people or events in a candid and unobtrusive way. This is the best way to record your essence and personality. Many clients have told me that they are glad that they hired me instead of a “traditional photographer.” After hearing that multiple times, I put some thought into what exactly that means, because it wasn’t a conscious decision to be untraditional: I’m just me.

It seems most people think of family portraits as a trip to the studio at the department store where a stranger is behind the camera, telling them exactly how to stand and which way to tilt their heads, or they think of their wedding photographer as a man in a suit with a checklist of the standard wedding poses. Well, that’s not me. I like to do things a little differently. I like weddings and portraits because they allow me to express my creativity and make your memories into art.
Most of my photo shoots are on-location and I can even come to your home to be sure your experience is as comfortable as possible. I am willing to travel anywhere in the world to photograph what’s important to you. I strive to be as flexible as possible and to do whatever it is my clients may want. I have accompanied family vacations to do beach photos, hiked to achieve mountain-top views, stopped traffic for brides so they may hula-hoop in the street and shot wedding pictures with Elvis on the Vegas strip. I’ve also attended yoga classes, bridal showers and Grandpa’s 90th birthday party… So, yes, I suppose that I’m not your “traditional photographer”.
It brings me great joy to capture your happiness, love and all of the joyous moments of the most precious times of your life. Being able to give that is my gift, a gift of memories that will last a lifetime and be enjoyed for your generations to come.
Thank you for reading about me and for your interest in considering me as your photographer.
